Dazzling gemstones, modern, fresh designs and innovative, artistic craftsmanship are the hallmarks of Lauren Elizabeth. As a highly trained Goldsmith and Gemmologist I am very passionate about making exclusive work, crafted with a high level of expertise and skill. If you like my work, perhaps you would like to consider commissioning me to make you a unique, signature piece of jewellery.
Each piece is designed and handcrafted in-house by Lauren and hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office. Lauren also works amongst highly skilled CAD designers, metal casters and stone setters, assuring that all elements of the making process are executed to the highest standards. I am happy to work with clients to create custom made, bespoke pieces, or re-model existing designs and heirlooms. Perhaps you already possess an idea, a source of inspiration or have a gemstone in mind. If not, I am able to source a variety of fine quality calibrated gemstones and gemstones which are unique for their cut, shape, colour or inclusions, which can form the basis of design inspiration and ideas.
Experience the design journey from start to finish with a friendly, personal approach, where concepts can be turned into reality. Lauren works closely with her clients to push the boundaries and produce that extra special piece of high quality wearable art, which you or your loved ones will treasure for posterity. Due to the investment of time and attention into each commission, this process will take on average between 6-8 weeks; however client’s tighter timescales will try to be met wherever possible.

Commission Process
1: Contact Lauren with your enquiry and a free of charge initial consultation will be arranged via email, telephone or at our studio. This initial discussion will cover your design idea/s and options, production advice, gemstone advice and whether or not the commission will be feasible within your budget and deadline.

A few points to consider:
Who is it for? Is it for a particular occasion or to match other jewellery?
Metal preferences including colour and finish (polished/satin/textured/combination)
Would you like to include a gemstone? Birthstone? Favourite stone colours?
Do you already have a gemstone or would you like a stone sourced specifically for you?
Your gemstone preferences including shape, cut and colour and carat size
Do you have a design style idea or and initial starting point?
Ring finger size or other specific sizes such as necklace length or wrist size
Do you have a completion deadline?
Do you have a budget?

2: Having discussed your requirements, Lauren will begin the design process, which will involve producing initial sketch concepts (a couple of variations of a concept) coupled with 3D modelling using Computer Aided Design. There is a £100 non-refundable design fee per commissioned item to go towards this work that is deducted from the final purchase amount. Detailed measurements of a client’s gemstone and/or the stone itself will be required, or if a stone is being sourced, the chosen stone will need to be discussed /identified/measurements obtained before commencing the design process.
———
3: You will receive via email these concept illustrations, CAD drawings and virtual rendering screenshots of your proposed piece of jewellery, which will allow you to visualise the options. A price estimate will be provided at this time. There will be no charge for minor alterations, however any major changes including design of brand new ideas will incur a charge subject to complexity.
———
4: Once a firm design has been chosen, you will be sent a 3D CAD visual/render of the final design, pictured in the chosen metal colour/s, stone colour etc… with measurements, and you will also receive a firm total price quote. If applicable to the design you will also be sent a 3D printed, 1:1 scale, resin model prototype of the intended piece for you to look at/try on for fitting.
———
5: Before making then commences, a non-refundable 50% deposit will be required based on the overall cost of the item, with the balance due upon completion. The £100 design fee previously paid will be redeemable against the remaining final balance. Select calibrated stones will be sourced on approval for the client to examine and choose from, or a previously agreed unique gemstone will be ordered and paid for by the client (if not done so already as part of design process). Commencement of the production process will then begin which will normally take between 4-6 weeks from start to finish.
———
6: Once the piece is ready for collection, either in person or via post, the remaining balance will be due for payment. Payment will need to be cleared before the piece is made available for handover. All jewellery pieces will be presented in a Lauren Elizabeth box. Payments can be made upon issue of an invoice using all major debit/credit cards via bank transfer, telephone card payment or by cheque.
———
Cancellations: If you change your mind about the commission before the initial £100 design fee has been paid, there is no fee payable. If you decide that after the design deposit fee has been paid you no longer wish to proceed, unfortunately this deposit will be unable to be refunded as design work on the piece will have already been started. The 50% manufacturing deposit will not be refunded once work has begun.
